Harvest Problems
Definition of a harvest problem; At the end of a 3.5
minute harvest cycle the slab of ice is still contacting
the evaporator. The slab of ice may or may not be
removable by hand.
Harvest problems can be split into two categorizes.
• Melted sheet of cubes at the end of the harvest
cycle. Ice can be removed rather easily by hand.
The back of the cubes are misshapen and melted.
This indicates something is on the evaporator
preventing the ice slab from releasing. Follow the
appropriate flow chart (in Troubleshooting) to
determine the cause of the problem. A manual
cleaning procedure must always be performed
when this problem is encountered.
• Normal sheet of cubes at the end of the harvest
cycle. Ice is difficult to remove from the evaporator
by hand. Once removed the back of the cubes are
square and show no signs of melting. This
indicates a refrigeration problem. The source of
the problem could be in the freeze or harvest
cycle. Use the appropriate flow chart (in
Troubleshooting) to determine the cause of the
problem.
