Connecting the electrical system

For this reason:

The starter battery's negative lead must be fed back to starter terminal 31.
S
Connect the engine and all pipe connections from and to the engine with the plant potential using
”ground cables”.
In the case of dual engine plants, independent wiring is required for each engine, i.e. the engines' circuits
must not be linked together.
Batteries
Separate batteries for the starter must be provided for
each
engine.

Starter
All MAN industrial gas engines have two-pole
starters. The starter battery's positive lead must
therefore be fed back to terminal 30 of the
starter

, the starter battery's negative lead to
terminal 31 of the starter

.
The starter can be mounted either on the left or
the right of the engine.
