TROUBLESHOOTING
• If the scooter malfunctions, perform the checks and operations proposed by this Manual.
FAULTY BRAKE SYSTEM
Scooter fails to brake or excess lever travel.
• For both hydraulic brakes, check the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoirs on the handlebars, and if necessary,
top up or bleed the circuit.
• Check the thickness of the brakes pads every 2000 km.
THE ENGINE DOES NOT START
1) Brake lever not pulled:
• pull one of the two brake levers.
2) Keyswitch not activated:
• insert the key and turn it clockwise.
3) Make sure that:
• the engine stop switch on the right-hand side of the handlebars is not activated and the side stand is not in its
stowed position.
4) Flooded engine:
• turn the throttle grip and keep trying to start the engine; if the engine fails to start remove the spark plug and dry
it carefully, then refit the spark plug and try to start the engine again.
5) Clogged or dirty air filter
6) Starter motor runs too slowly:
• the battery is discharged or partially discharged
7) Starter motor runs but engine fails to start:
• check condition of the spark plug: clean or change if necessary.
STORAGE
To keep the vehicle in perfect condition, during prolonged storage, remember to:
• start the engine and run it for about 10 minutes in order to drain any water from the engine and coat internal surfaces
with oil;
• remove the spark plug and pour a spoonful of engine oil into the bore before refitting the spark plug;
• press the starter button several times to allow the oil to lubricate the thermal unit walls;
• lubricate the control cables;
• cover all metal surfaces with a coat of oil (do not apply oil to rubber or plastic parts);
• remove the battery and recharge it;
• store the vehicle in a dry place.
