4. Assembling the ventilation unit (Specialist installer)
4.2 Installing the ventilation unit
4.2 Installing the ventilation unit
1. Place the ventilation unit in position and make sure that it is horizontal.
2. Make sure that there is enough free space in front of the unit for installation
and operation. The front door has to be folded down to enable you to
dismantle the filters and heat exchanger.
3. The ventilation unit stands on 4 feet.
4.3 Connecting ducting
1. Connect the ducting and tubular sound absorber to the ventilation unit. We
recommend the use of DN 125 folded spiral-seams duct for the air channels.
2. Fix the tubular sound absorber in place using fixing cuffs and insulate it in
the area of the fixing cuffs using insulation material supplied on-site. This
prevents the build up of condensation.
3. Install a protective grille and/or fly grille at the external connections and a
disk valve at the internal connections.
Notes
■
It is important that no objects fall in the ventilation unit's couplings as this
could result in the fans being damaged.
■
Supply and exhaust air channels installed in unheated areas must be
thermally insulated with at least 50 mm thick insulation material, e.g. rock
wool.
■
Outside and outgoing air ducts must be protected with at least 50 mm thick
thermal insulation and externally located moisture barriers against a build-
up of condensation.
4.4 Connecting condensation run-off
1. Open the ventilation unit. First, open the 2 quick-release clips and carefully
swing the front door downwards until it reaches floor level.
2. Have a sufficiently long ½" hose at the ready. Bend the end of the hose into
a siphon with a water column of some 50 mm and fix this in place with
suitable fixing material. The hose should not be kinked. Optionally, the
hose can be fed into an existing siphon.
3. Locate the run-off hose on the angled piece on the floor panel of the
ventilation unit. Fix the hose in place with a hose-clip.
4. Connect the hose to the waste water pipe as shown in the picture.
5. Now pour some water into the ventilation unit's condensation run-off and
check that the connection is water-tight. Top up the siphon with water to
avoid any leaks.
6. Finally, swing the front door upwards and close both quick-release clips.
Top up the water in the siphon if the equipment is not going to be
operated for a longer period of time.
