2.3 System features
■
Operation of the ventilation unit with the operator panel (2). The operator
unit shown here has a timer for automatic switching between fan level 1
and 2, as well as a filter change display.
■
Degree of heat provision up to 90%.
■
Supply air and exhaust fans with particularly energy-saving direct current
motor.
■
Electronic volumetric flow regulation for constant air flows. The volumetric
flow base setting for steps 1, 2 and 3 is done using DIP switches. The
pre-selected volumetric flow is maintained in the case of system
pressure changes caused, for example, by dirt in the filter.
■
Filter change is possible without tools.
■
Integrated frost protection: The ventilation unit is fitted with a frost
protection, as any condensation in the heat exchanger could freeze in the
case of low, outside temperatures.
2.4 System expansions
In order to guarantee uninterrupted and unlimited operation of the
ventilation system in the case of frost, an earth heat exchanger or
an electrical preheating must be used (see Chapter 1.3).
Earth heat exchanger
An energy-optimised frost protection for the ventilation unit can be ensured
through earth heat exchangers and a contribution can be made to the supply
of heat with cold, external temperatures. In summer, the earth heat exchanger
provides a certain cooling function and dehumidifying of the outside air.
Earth heat exchangers must be planned carefully in respect of energy
efficiency and air hygiene. Attention must be paid to good cleanability and a
suitable filter concept and provision must be made for a service opening. The
principle of the earth heat exchanger is shown on page 4.
Electrical re-heating
Living rooms can be supplied with additional heating on extremely cold winter
days with an electric re-heating, e.g. with an electric air heater. Control of the
supply air temperature is done separately.
Alternatively, an air-water heating register connected to hot water heating can
be used. The temperature of the supply air can be controlled, for example, using
a thermostat valve with a remote sensor.
