Recording from an External Device
Before recording from an external device, refer to “Connecting
to an External Tuner” (p.15).

Recording to a DVD
Press
[DVD]
, then insert a recordable disc.
• Refer to “How to Insert a Disc” (p.23).

It takes a while to load the disc.
Recording to a Cassette tape
Press
[VCR]
, then insert a cassette tape with an erase-
protection tab intact.

Bi-directional Dubbing
You can copy the contents of a DVD to a cassette tape or do
vice versa. This function is only available when the contents
are not copy-protected. (Before you start, refer to page 24
for the list of compatible discs.)
Notes for dubbing
• The dubbing direction setting in the “Dubbing Mode” menu is
always reset to “VCR DVD” whenever you switch the unit
to standby mode.
• You cannot change the output mode during VCR to DVD or
DVD to VCR duplication.
Notes for recording to a cassette tape
• Make sure
- the cassette tape’s erase-protection tab is intact.
- the cassette tape is long enough.
Notes for recording to a disc
• Make sure
- the disc is compatible (refer to page 24).
Preparing for dubbing (cassette tape to DVD):
• Insert a cassette tape to be dubbed.
• Insert a recordable DVD.
• Make sure there is enough space on the DVD.
Preparing for dubbing (DVD to cassette tape):
• Insert a disc to be dubbed.
• Insert a cassette tape with an erase-protection tab
intact.
• Make sure there is enough recordable length on the
tape.
