3.2.3 Connection in BENCH
The BENCH connection mode is similar to the BOOT MODE in many aspects.
In most cases, it is always possible to have access to all memories such as the Internal
Flash and Internal EEPROM and the External Flash and External EEPROM where
present, with the substantial difference that it is not necessary to open the control unit
to make this type of connection.
•
This mode supports different types of Microprocessors such as:
•
MOTOROLA MPC5xx, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N94TXBmkbo
•
BL Infineon TC17xx, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4PNRVcB1Sg
•
JTAG Renesas SH705x / SH725xx
All available options can be viewed at the following link:

It is not possible to restore the control unit if the SW is corrupt.
It is possible to completely read all the memories present in the control
unit, ensuring a full backup of the content;
In most cases, it is possible to make a copy compliant with the control
unit;
It is much safer than BOOT MODE, as it is not necessary to open the
control unit;
Writing does not increase the flash counter.
