Setting Device Name
Changing device name in the
System
tab requires administrative rights.
By default, the device name is the same as the product model name.
1. Access the Web UI, and sign in as a administrator.
2. Click and enter the
System > General
tab.
3. Enter a new
Device name
. The device name is a string of 1 to 30 non-case
sensitive characters, containing letters a to z, A to Z, 0-9, spaces and
special characters like _-+.
4. Click
Apply
to save your change.
System
With administrative rights, you can access the
System
tab to control more functions, such as:
Setting device name, Joining Magewell Cloud, and modifying date time

Network settings for joining a specific LAN
■
Updating firmware for the latest features and improvements
■
Creating or removing general user accounts for accessing the converter
■
Changing passwords for all users
■
Exporting logs to get technical support
■
Rebooting or resetting the converter to fix problems
