6.2 Direction of flow
Depending on the built-in mechanical seal, the pump can be operated in one or both directions.
The direction of rotation of the motor determines the conveying direction of the pump (clockwise

13, counter-clockwise

Fig. 14).
6.3 Dry running

The pump is said to run dry if it continues to operate without pumping any liquid whatsoever. Dry
running must be avoided. This can be ensured by remaining in attendance or with the aid of such
technical means as a flow monitor, etc.
6.4 Operation with closed discharge

Injury by flying parts!
The eccentric screw pump B70H is a positive displacement pump. The pump must not be operated with
closed shutoff elements, such as nozzle, valve, etc. The generated overpressure can lead to damages. Make
sure that the maximum pressure will not be exceeded (

technical data).
6.5 Malfunction

Pinching by rotating parts!

In case of malfunction or unreproducible downtime, disconnect the motor from the mains before repair
work is carried out.
