VMS Coverage
A feature that provides PARTNER MAIL Call Answer
service when a call is not answered by a covered
extension.
VMS Line Cover
A feature that enables callers who call in on the
covered line to leave a message in the mailbox if no
one answers the call.
Voice Messaging System (VMS)
An optional device that provides the following
services: answer calls and routes them to caller
designated extensions; permit callers to leave
messages at an unanswered extension; allow voice
mail system subscribers to retrieve their messages.
Voice Mail Service
A feature that allows subscribers to: receive
messages, listen to messages, create messages,
change messages, record personal greetings and
names, assign passwords, and designate their Personal
Operator. In addition, it allows the System
Administrator to: use the Broadcast feature and
perform PARTNER MAIL system administration.
VMS Coverage button
Provides subscribers that capability of turning voice
mail coverage ON or OFF at an extension. See also
Automatic VMS Cover.
VMS hunt delay
A feature that lets you set the Automated Attendant to
handle calls in one of two ways: Immediate Call
Handling or Delayed Call Handling.
VMS hunt group
Extension hunt group 7, reserved by the system to
identify extensions that provide PARTNER MAIL

VMS hunt schedule
A feature that allows you to set the PARTNER II
Release 3 system to route outside calls to the
PARTNER MAIL Automated Attendant always, during
the day only, or only during the night.
VMS line coverage
An administrator can associate a “Personal” line with a
subscriber's extension for Voice Mail coverage. See
Auto VMS Cover.
