Troubleshooting
PROBLEM: Calls are not being transferred properly.
Possible Cause
A valid extension has not been
programmed or requested.
Corrective Action
Make sure a valid extension has been
programmed or requested.
If the problem involves the System
Operator, be sure the proper extension
has been designated for that person.
PROBLEM: Outside callers hear ringing, but the system does not answer.
Possible Cause
This is normal when all the the
PARTNER MAIL system ports are
busy.
The connections of the modular cords
to the mail system unit may be loose.
Corrective Action
If this problem occurs often on a 2-port
system, it is recommended that you
upgrade to a 4-port system.
Check the modular cords on the
PARTNER MAIL unit to make sure
they are securely connected. Call the
PARTNER MAIL port directly to see if
the call is answered. If not, the
connection may be broken.
PROBLEM: The system does not answer immediately.
Possible Cause
The system may be administered for
delayed answer, or the ports may be
busy.
The connections of the modular cords
to the mail system unit may be loose.
Corrective Action
If you do not want delayed answer,
program the PARTNER II Release 3
for immediate answer. If this problem
occurs often on a 2-port system, it is
recommended that you upgrade to a
4-port system.
Check the modular cords on the mail
unit to make sure they are securely
connected.
