Teletext display modes
If teletext is switched on, you can switch to TV picture without leaving the teletext. Or you
can display an enlarged teletext page, uncover hidden texts and display and clear
newsflashes.
These special teletext applications also
include the subtitles and „Program guide“
which can be called in TV mode as well as
the program preview pages in the teletext,
you will find the descriptions of these
functions elsewhere in these operating
instructions.
You will find newsflashes, for example, in
many stations on pages 111 and 222. In
ARD and ZDF, these are news and sports
flashes.
You will see an arrow > in front of the page
number as long as the search is going on.
The arrow disappears as soon as the page
has been found. You can switch back to
teletext.
Hidden texts are used, for example, as
answers to quiz questions or as VPS pages
in the program previews in the teletext.
Teletext – display modes
1. Set character height large/normal
Press the
button. The top half of the
picture is displayed first with double
magnification. Press the
button again
- the bottom half of the picture is
displayed. Back to normal size: press
again.
2. Display and clear newsflash:
If you select a newsflash page, the
newsflash appears at the bottom of the
TV picture. If you only want to see the
current newsflash, clear this with the
button. As soon as the station sends a
new newsflash, this appears automatically
on the screen.
3. TV picture in teletext:
This function is useful if it takes a long
time to reach the page you want. You can
switch to the TV picture out of teletext
mode by pressing
.
All you can see of the teletext is then the
page number in the top left hand corner.
You can then choose another page, for
example, with the number buttons or
i
.
Press the
button again to return to
the teletext.
4. Uncovering hidden text/graphics:
Texts are „hidden“ on some pages, i.e.
they are not immediately visible. You can
uncover these with the
?
button.
