6. Operating the system
6.1 Advice
6.1.1 General Advice
Wear goggles when opening door also when furnace has cooled down.
Even after days, small glass splinters may come off heating elements.
Use only insulation material which has been pre-treated at 1100 °C.
Open door only when necessary, to avoid that humidity from ambient air
gets into the insulation material.
Furnace should be purged with a low gas flow, when not in use, to avoid
that humidity from ambient air gets into the furnace.
Open quick valve "Spülgas" ( purge gas ) at furnace rear and set flow
meter.
Reduce cooling water flow so that temperature of waste cooling water is
only approx. 35-40 °C at max. operating temperature to prevent generating
of condensed water at cooling areas of door flange.
Do not open door at temperature above 300°C to prevent negative
influence on durability of door sealing.
When heating is switched off at a chamber temperature above 1000 °C wait
approx. 60 minutes after switching off before setting main switch to "0"
and cutting off cooling air fan assembly.
Testing and adjustment of current limiter only by a professional !
This furnace is not allowed to be operated with oxidizing atmosphere.
