Output line testing
After you select the setup file that corresponds to your CNC machine, the default tool
will generally be either a plasma cutter or a router. This is generally sufficient to run the
initial testing of the CNC Controls and TM4 Driver software when initially set up, but if
additional tools are present, they should also be tested.
• To test the (default) tool, you will turn the tool on: Activate the tool
either in the Aux menu or in the Output Box by clicking on the gray
status button labeled with the tool type (for instance, “Plasma”).
• If the tool is properly connected to the CNC Controller, it will turn
on (activate), and the button turns yellow.
• Turn the tool off by clicking the status button again. The button
becomes gray again.
• If additional tools are set up, the activation and operation of these
tools will also need to be setup and tested. To perform the tests,
first identify the output lines that control the different tool. Go
to
Configuration
X
I/O
X
Output Lines.
Any output line with a
Description will appear in the Aux menu, where it can be tested.
Begin by assigning each line a Description, such as the number
corresponding to the line.
• Test each line to see if it activates the tool.
• Once you’ve identified the corresponding lines and tools, change the
Description of the output lines to reflect the setup.
