
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Have qualified personnel do the maintenance
work. Turn the engine off before working inside
the machine. In some cases, it may be
necessary to remove safety guards to perform
required maintenance. Remove guards only
when necessary and replace them when the
maintenance requiring their removal is
complete. Always use the greatest care when
working near moving parts.
Do not put your hands near the cooling blower
fan. If a problem cannot be corrected by
following the instructions, take the machine to
the nearest Lincoln Field Service Shop.

MAINTENANCE
The product has been designed to function with mini-
mal maintenance. In order to guarantee optimal perfor-
mance level, periodic maintenance and cleaning activ-
ities are required which are described in this chapter.
Maintenance intervals can vary depending on the spe-
cific working conditions, such as ambient conditions,
welding consumables and process(es), base material,
coatings on base material and operator procedure.
Therefore, it is required that regular inspection of the
entire system is carried out. It is recommended a thor-
ough inspection of the system occurs at least once
every year.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
The maintenance activities in
Tables D.1 and D.2
below indicated by [*] can be carried out by the user;
other activities are strictly reserved for well trained and
authorized service personnel.

ATTENTION
When cleaning equipment or replac-
ing filter use personal protection
equipment (PPE) such as gloves,
respirators and protective clothing
to protect against overexposure to
particulate. It is recommended that
a vacuum cleaner or wet methods
be used to clean up any loose par-
ticulate that is present in the extrac-
tion arm. It is necessary to use a
vacuum cleaner with HEPA rated fil-
tration.
