6.5 Setting of relay signals

Level transmitter has two normally open groups of relay contacts. The “Configura-
tor” software tab allows relay closing criteria setting. Depending on the level trans-
mitter readings and measurement status value, two relay signals are generated.

In the top left part of tab, Fig. 6.14, three text fields are located, which are in-
tended for input of values of two maximum levels (distances) and hysteresis (in mil-
limeters). Hysteresis is required for elimination of unnecessary relay tripping (chat-
ter). For example, 10mm hysteresis means that upon reaching the control level, re-
lay is closed and is not open until level changes back by 10mm. Therefore, readings
dispersion of 10mm about the maximum level due to the surface disturbance at fill-
ing (discharge) will not result in the frequent relay switching.
Sets of switches for setting the relay signal generation conditions are located
below in two columns with separate set for each channel. Selection of top check box
