The Info /s command and/or the Info
command doesn’t work.
The
info
and
info /s
commands are only
available in certain
directories at this time.
No action is required.
The LoadDefault command doesn’t
change the configuration settings.
The switch must be
disabled before executing
the LoadDefault command.
Use the
SwitchDisable
command to disable the
switch prior to executing the
LoadDefault
command.
Out-of-Band IP addresses were not
reset after executing the LoadDefault
command.
To prevent the user from
losing a connection with a
remote switch, the
LoadDefault command
doesn’t clear the Out-of-
Band or InBand IP
addresses.
No action is required.
When accessing a switch with
SANman, some of the configuration
options are grayed out.
The user does not have the
proper SNMP access rights
to the switch being
configured.
Ensure the switch was defined in SANman
using the correct SNMP access level. The
default SNMP community string for
administrator level access is
private
. See:
SNMP Remote Management Configuration
Overview
in the GFS Product Family User
Manual.
When an E_Port connection is
removed, switches and other devices
dissapear from the associated
SANman topology tab.
The switch may not have
been defined in the fabric
tree using its out-of-band
IP address.
SANman will display switches and devices on
the topology tab if those elements are detectable
from any switch SANman is managing,
however in order to maintain the status of these
devices the management station must have
network access to all switches. Maintain this
network connection to all fabric switches in
order to monitor all devices.
Devices physically connected to the
fabric cannot be viewed in the
SANman topology display.
It could either be a
problem with the physical
connection or a
configuration problem.
1. Make sure the physical connection is
functioning.
2. Make sure all switches have unique
Domain ID’s.
3. Make sure the Out-of-Band, In-Band, and
BBW ports are all configured in different
subnets.
4. Make sure AutoNegotiation is enabled for
all GbE ports.
5. Refer to the GFS Product Family User
Manual, Chapter 6 for information on
troubleshooting device login issues.
Neighbor addresses can not be added
using the BBW section of the
SANman switchview window.
The user is attempting to
add the entry by double
clicking on the table rows.
Right-click in the BBW neighbor table display
area and choose ‘add’ from the pop-up menu.
Follow the prompts to add the desired neighbor
address.
The BBW IP address cannot be
changed.
The port or switch must be
disabled to change BBW
parameters.
Execute the
SwitchDisable
or
PortDisable
commands.
