Figure 1-1 illustrates a Management Workstation running Telnet or SANman.
The Workstation is connected to the GFS-8 switched fabric. This is In-Band
management because the data originates ON the native switched fabric. The
workstation may manage any switch on the fabric, including switches that are
on the opposite side of the BBW link (IP cloud) providing that they are on the
same subnet. The GFS-8 is a switch, not a router, and has one In-Band IP
address assigned to it.
