11.1 Maintenance
Guidelines
Handler 4 can only be used in a clean and dust free environment (laboratory
use). Dust can damage the open rotating parts. If the instrument is stored in a
dusty, unclean atmosphere for a long period of time, the dust must be removed
and the instrument must be cleaned very carefully before the instrument is
installed. Caution! There will be parts in need of new grease.
The Handler 4 is constructed for minimal maintenance and with the exception of
the periodic control of belt tension, there is no need for regular service.
The lift assembly requires regular but minimal check-up and maintenance.
Scheduling of maintenance is dependant on the frequency of movement.
Maintenance involves inspection of the lubrication of the gears,
mark of oil-
filling
in the lift assembly and of play in the gears.
