M690, ELECTRICAL PART - INSPECTION AND REPAIR
Test box
A test box

078) can be supplied for inspecting and adjusting the M690 optics carrier. It enables
the zoom and focus motors to be operated without MEL, and also enables the motor- and lamp cur-
rents to be measured.
Functions of the test box
Connect cable (1) to the M690 horizontal arm,
right-hand socket.
Switch (3) is for the microscope lamp
(switched off in position LAMP).
(5) is the UP/DOWN switch
(motor selected with (4) is controlled).
Earthing socket (7) is for inspecting the
earth connection to the M690.
Connect feeder cable (2) to a DC supply.
(red = positive, black = negative).
The selector switch (4) is for the zoom- or
focus- motor.
Sockets (6) are for measuring current.
LED (8) shines when there is a voltage within
the test box.
Preparations for inspection and repair
Connect test box to DC supply and to M690. Set switch (3) to position LAMP (off).
Refer to pages 1-2 for information on cable connections.
