Setting the Focus Trap
Focus trap is a useful feature for when you are photographing a moving
subject at a specific distance from your camera. Focus trap enables you to
set the camera to shoot automatically when your subject reaches the preset
focus distance.
1.
On the
AF
switch, set
M
(manual focus) mode.
2.
Set the On/Off dial to red dot.
3.
Press and hold down the On/Off button.
4.
Rotate the Rear dial to select
Focus Trap
in the handgrip LCD.
5.
Release the On/Off button.
The Focus Trap icon appears on the LCD screen.
6.
Manually focus on the desired point for trapping.
7.
Point the camera so that the focus area is on an out of focus area.
8.
Push the Shutter Release button all the way in.
The shutter is not released.
9.
Keep holding the Shutter Release button down.
10.
Move the camera so that the focus area falls on an object that is at the
same distance from the camera as the desired point for trapping.
The shutter is automatically released.
