5-5. Completion of Mounting and
Adjustment
Secure the cable with the supplied cable clamp and a small
screw (M4
×
8 provided).
Note
Leave the scale for about 3 hours after mounting for the
tightened parts to thermally stabilize.
5-6. Built-in reference point
1
A mono-directional reference point has been adopted as
the optical-type built-in reference point for the Laserscale
scale unit. Accordingly, reference point detection should
be performed with the relative traveling directions of the
scale and slider as shown in the diagram below. During
detection, the reference point signal will rise. (Performing
reference point detection in the reverse direction will lower
the reference point accuracy.)
For standard specifications
2
Reference point detection locations for standard specifi-
cations are engraved at a 50 mm pitch to the left and right
of the center of the scale measuring length. Refer to P32
regarding reference point signal positions for each
measuring length.
3
Reference points can be detected using a decelaration
dog or by masking unnecessary reference points with the
provided reference point masking labels.
4
To attain the designated accuracy, limit speed changes
during reference point detection to less than 0.2 mm/s.
