3. Enter the following information:
State
Displays the current state of the access point.
Enabled
: If selected, enables the access point to scan for wireless
clients. The default is enabled. The access point cannot be enabled if
the wireless client is enabled.
Disabled
: If selected, disables the access point.
Network Name (SSID)
Enter the Service Set Identifier or network name for the access point.
The SSID can contain up to 32 characters (the characters '/', '\', '"' and
'|' are not allowed). The default SSID is
Lantronix_EMGxxxx
, where
xxxx
is the last 4 characters of the Ethernet port Eth1 MAC address.
SSID Broadcast
If enabled, the EMG will broadcast its SSID in the beacons that are sent
out. Enabled by default.
Channel Selection
Select the channel through which the access point will operate:
Auto
allows the radio to select a channel; or
Manual
allows the user to
specify the channel on which the access point will operate.
Security Suite
Select the authentication method for connecting to the access point:
None
for no security (not recommended),
WPA
for WiFi Protected
Access, or
WPA2
for WiFi Protected Access II security with AES-
CCMP encryption.
