FIRST BOILER IGNITION AND ADJUSTMENT
The operations described below must be carried out by skilled technical personnel.
Check that plant and boiler are perfectly filled with water and bled. Remove the inlet pressure intake screw on
the gas valve and fix a water column manometer. Open the gas tap. Check that the upstream gas pressure is
equal to or slightly more than, 20 bar.
(Warning: if the pressure is more than 37 mbar (370 mm w.c.), insert pressure reducers upstream of the boiler,
or contact the gas provider company.
Set the general switch to ON after checking the supply mains voltage (the voltage presence lamp must be on
before starting the switch).
1) Set the desired temperature on the boiler thermostat. The gas will start coming out of the main burner and
the igniter will set the spark.
If this does not occur, check that the control unit is supplied.
- If tension is supplied, replace the control unit
- If tension is not supplied, check the general switch, the fume thermostat, the clock, the room thermostat,
the adjustment thermostat.
- Check that the spark is about 5 mm long and that sets between the ignition electrode and the gas outlet
cuts on the burner. After 10 seconds max., the igniter stops operating. If the main burner does not ignite
with the spark, make sure that:
- the gas plant has completely bled
- voltage is supplied to the gas valve
If the burner ignites but the spark still is on and after a few seconds the ionisation control unit locks out,
make sure that:
- phase is connected to terminal 1 and neutral is connected to terminal 2 of the control panel
- the ionisation electrode does not discharge to earth due to ceramic rupture, or due to wrong position or
humidity
- the plant earthing is correct and the earth wire connected to the burner is correctly fixed
2) Shut off the boiler turning the main switch. Unscrew the pressure intake screw downstream of the valve.
Move the water column manometer on the pressure intake. Tighten the screw on the inlet pressure intake
again. When the burner has ignited totally, calibrate the gas pressure to the burner to the values indicated
in the technical data table. Seal the adjustment.
3) Shut off the boiler turning the main switch. Wait at least 30 seconds. Ignite the burner again and check for
slow ignition (approximate values: 8 mbar).
GAS TYPE CONVERSION
The boilers are intended to operate with mathane gas.
If they are to be used with LPG, order the relevant conversion kit from methane gas to LPG:
Conversion from Methane to LPG:
-
Check the seal of the gas valve-gas pipe junction with a manometer;
-
Check pressure upstream of the control box through the plant pressure outlet so as to have the pressure
indicated in the technical data table;
-
Seal the gas valve pressure regulator;
-
Stick the label “Boiler regulated for LPG” on the existing one.
