9.2.1. LAN Connection

Click on the
LAN Connection
link to configure your Ethernet Disk mini for connecting to your home network. You can configure it to
obtain a dynamic IP address (the default), or you can assign it a static IP address. You can also optionally configure your Ethernet Disk
mini to use your ISP’s DNS servers when resolving host names. This is required if your Ethernet Disk mini is assigned a static IP address.
By default your Ethernet Disk mini runs its own DNS server, but if you have DNS-related problems when using it, you can enter your ISP’s
DNS servers here to make the Ethernet Disk mini use them instead of its own DNS server.
