5. Material jams
a. Excessive blade gap in jaws
b. Worn piercing tip
c. Blade not within LaBounty
specifi cations
d. Excessive guide blade gap
e. Worn lower, lack of build-up and
hardsurfacing
i. Add blade shims (refer to blade shimming
procedure)
ii. Replace worn blades
i. Build-up and hardsurface existing tip to mainte-
nance specifi cations
ii. Rotate blades
iii. Replace, if all four edges are dull, with LaBoun-
ty approved blades
i. Replace with LaBounty approved blades
i. Add guide blade shims (refer to guide blade
shimming procedure
ii. Rotate guide blade or replace when both sides
are worn
i. Perform build-up and hardsurfacing on lower
shear (refer to maintenance procedures)
6. Blade gap is uneven
a. Non-LaBounty blades being
used
b. Debris in blade seat behind
blades
c. Inconsistent amount of blade
shims between primary and sec-
ondary blades
d. Upper shear is bend
i. Replace with LaBounty approved blades
i. Remove blades from blade seats and clear all
debris from behind
i. Reshim blades for consistency (refer to blade
shimming procedure
i. Consult the factory for repair
7. Individual hydraulic func-
tion is slow
a. Pilot control hoses pinched
b. Jumpline or connections
