Alarms Continued

Filter

This alarm will appear if the filter feature has been enabled in the menu. This is

helpful to notify the user it is time to replace the water filter and or softener. The alarm can
then be reset in the alarms menu.

Fine Grind

This alarm will appear if the grinding feature has been enabled in the menu and

the shot extraction time is longer than the value set in the grinding menu. Adjust grind to a
coarser setting and make sure you are tamping with no more than 30lbs of pressure.

Coarse Grind

This alarm will appear if the grinding feature has been enabled in the menu

and the shot extraction time is shorter than the value set in the grinding menu. Adjust grind
to a finer setting and make sure you are tamping with 30lbs of pressure.

Refill Water Tank

This alarm will appear when the water reservoir is empty. Refill the water

reservoir with fresh water.

Pump Pressure Adjustment

The pump pressure should be set after the machine has reached operating temperature.
Failure to do so may cause a false pressure reading due to the expansion of the cold water in
the coffee boiler.

Remove the 2 screws holding the front panel on
near the pressure gauge.

Put the backflush disc into the portafilter and lock it
into the grouphead.

Press the manual shot button and wait for the
portafilter to fill with water and then it will start
building pressure on the left side of the gauge.

Turn the adjustment nut to the right to increase the
pressure and left to decrease. The recommended
setting with the backflush disc is 9.5-10 bar.

This can be useful in setting your grind also. If your grind is good then when you make coffee
the pressure should be around 9 bar. If you are getting 10 bar with the backflush disc, but only
8 bar or less when making coffee then that means your grind is too coarse and you need to
make it finer to create more resistance to raise the pressure.
