4. Remove the four nuts that secure the motor to the
fan housing. See Fig. 26.
FIG. 26
To change the motor, you will need to remove the
burner casting, and the gas control valve with pilot
assembly from the heater. Refer to “ Burner, Burner
Ori
fi
ce and Gas Control Valve” service instruction on
preceding pages.
Once these componets have been removed, lift and
pivot the motor as needed while pulling slightly against
the heat chamber panel adjacent to the motor. This
will allow motor removal. See Fig. 27.

NOTES:
a. Fan wheel to motor mount plate spacing must
be adjusted to the clearance speci

motor shaft.
b. Make sure that set screw(s) of the fan are on the

Air Proving Switch
Classic 115:
The air proving switch must work properly to allow
ignition. It is wired in series to the high limit switch, which
is then in series to the gas control valve. If the air proving
switch contacts do not close on a call for heat after the
fan motor starts, ignition will not occur.
The air proving switch is mounted on the fan housing at
the motor end of the heater. See Fig. 29.
-- Remove the two nuts securing the switch to its mount-
ing screws and pull the switch from the screws.
