Turning the phone on and off
To turn your phone on or off, just press and hold
for a few seconds
until “Powering On” or “Powering Off” appears on the screen.
The pdQ
2
is designed to conserve battery power. When you are not
actively using it, the screen “goes to sleep” (both when the flip is open
and when it is closed). If you aren’t sure whether the phone is on, press
once briefly or check the LED. The LED flashes slowly when the
phone is on.
What you see when the flip is closed
If the phone
is off
The screen is blank. The LED is not flashing. Keyguard
protects against accidental key presses. Only

the backlight key are active.
If the phone
is on
When the screen is “awake”: The status icons appear at the
top of the screen; the menu bar appears at the bottom. The
LED flashes slowly. All keys are responsive.
When the screen is “asleep”: Keyguard protects against
accidental key presses. Only

are active. The LED flashes slowly.
To activate the screen, do any of the following:

Press the backlight key.

Press
, followed by the digits 1, 2, 3.

Open and close the flip.
