, you can modify
the following features.
Enable Airplane Mode
While in an airplane, it is normally required
that you turn off your device because it emits
wireless signals that interfere with air traffic
control. In airplane mode, however, your
device does not send wireless signals.
Touch
Airplane mode
to enable airplane mode
and disable all wireless signals. A check mark
indicates that your device is in airplane mode.
Wi-Fi settings
From
Wi-Fi settings
, you can modify the
following features.
Enable Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi provides wireless Internet connection
when connected to a wireless access point over
a distance of up to 328-feet (100-meter). The
availability and range of Wi-Fi varies
depending on environmental obstructions
through which the signal passes.
Before you can connect your device with a
wireless local area network, you need to enable
the Wi-Fi feature on your device.
Touch
Wi-Fi
to enable Wi-Fi. A check mark
indicates Wi-Fi is active. If your device does
not automatically scan for available networks,
you will be prompted to begin a scan. Once the
scan is complete, a list of available networks is
shown.
Note:
Using
Wi-Fi
will drain the battery faster.
Enable Wi-Fi Notifications
Touch
Network notification
to notify you
when an open network is available for Wi-Fi
use.
Add a Network
If your device does not automatically detect a
network, you can add it manually.
1. Touch
Add Wi-Fi network
.
2. Enter the Network SSID.
3. Select the security level.
4. Touch
Save
to add it to your network list.
Connect to an Open Network
With Wi-Fi enabled, you can connect to an
open network that has no security.
1. At the Wi-Fi network list, select an open
network.
2. Your device should automatically connect.
No password is needed for an open
network.
Connect to a Secure Network
With Wi-Fi enabled, you can connect to a
secure network.
1. At the Wi-Fi network list, select a secure
network.
2. Enter the applicable security key. This is
normally a WPA or WEP key.
3. Touch
Connect
to connect.
Note:
The next time you connect to a secure
network, you will not be prompted for the
security key.
