Macintosh Configuration 6-3
Important:Before accessing the FS-7000 or LS-7000 from the Macintosh, the default emu-
lation must be set to KPDL or KPDL (Auto). KPDL (Auto) will automatically
determine the necessary emulation for KPDL (PostScript) and non-KPDL print
jobs. (Other models will automatically switch to KPDL when receiving jobs
from the Macintosh even when the emulation is not set to KPDL (Auto).)
If only PostScript print jobs will be sent to the printer, use KDPL emulation. If
both PostScript and non-PostScript jobs will be sent to the printer, use KPDL
(Auto) emulation.
The following procedure may be used to change the default emulation from the
printer’s front panel.
1.
Press the Mode Select key.
2.
Press + or - until Interface is displayed. If the current Interface is not Option
2, then press Enter, press + or - until Option 2 is displayed, and press Enter
again.
3.
Press + or - until Emulation is displayed.
4.
Press Enter and press + or - until KPDL or KPDL (Auto) is displayed, and
press Enter again to accept the new setting. Note: If the KPDL selections
are not available, then the KPDL option has not been installed in the printer.
5.
Press Mode Select to exit the menu.
