TracNet 3.0 User’s Guide
2.12 Using Velocity
™
Acceleration
If installed on your networked computer, the Velocity
Acceleration software operates seamlessly in the background to
optimise the TracNet service and speed up Internet uploads and
downloads. One of three icons indicates Velocity Acceleration’s
current status. You decide how fast images download by
selecting the desired image quality/speed, as described in
“Selecting Image Quality/ Speed” on page 27.
The Velocity Acceleration Icons
On your computer’s task bar, one of three icons indicates the
current status of Velocity Acceleration:
Ready
The Ready icon indicates that Velocity Acceleration
is ready for use. This icon appears whenever you’re
offline and whenever you’re online, but idle.
Optimise
The Optimise icon, which looks like a spinning
tornado, indicates that Velocity Acceleration is
currently being used to optimise your connection,
such as when you’re loading a web page or sending
a web-based e-mail.
No Connection
The No Connection icon indicates that either the
connection to the optimising Internet server is
broken or Velocity Acceleration has been disabled. If
this icon appears, and you haven’t disabled Velocity
Acceleration, refer to
Section 3, “Troubleshooting,” on
page 29.
The Velocity Acceleration software
supplied with your TracNet system
is
not
compatible with Macintosh
computers.
