10. - Maintenance and storage

10.5.2 At the start of each season
- Pressurize the hydraulic circuit before activating
any other hydraulic function of the machine.
- Wipe off grease on cylinder rods.
- Check the condition of the friction slip clutch.
- Inspect and replace worn knives and bolts (See
chapter: Inspection of knives and securing
elements).
- Check that all nuts and bolts are sufficiently
tightened.
- Re-read the operators' manual.
- Retension V-belts.
- Check belt guard condition and if it is firmly
secured in place.
- Inspect and replace worn or damaged fingers on
the conditioning rotor.
- Make sure that all protection devices are in place
and in good condition.
- Check the condition of the friction slip clutch:
- Place the machine in working position.
- (a): Remove screw (1).
- (b): Pivot guard to align slots (1) and lugs (2).
- (c): Slide the guard along the PTO shaft.
