Insert the knotted end of the emergency
starter rope into the notch in the flywheel magnet and
wind the rope several turns around the flywheel
magnet clockwise.

Attach the engine shut-off cord to a
secure place on your clothing, or your arm or
leg. Then, install the clip on the other end of
the cord to the engine shut-off switch.

Align the engine start mark “ ” on the
throttle grip with the notch in the tiller handle.

Give a strong pull straight out to crank and
start the engine.
TIP:
If the engine does not start after several
attempts, pull out the choke knob.
