• The bypass level indicator differential compensated may not be exposed to mechanical load, vibrations
and impacts.
If these loads are present, damping elements must be used.
• The liquid must not have any mechanical impacts on the device.
• If there is a risk that the liquid could ignite or explode, then devices that conform to the
ATEX directive 2014/34/EU must be used.
• The environmental conditions must be such that all display instruments can be read without errors on-site,
and if possible, at a horizontal angle.
• The devices must be disposed of according to regional and national regulations and directives.
When the device is being disposed of, liquid residues may remain in it.
TRANSPORT REGULATIONS:
When packing for transport, be aware that the devices are measurement systems with electronic
components. The devices must be packed accordingly. The outer packing material such as wood, cardboard,
etc. must be marked with hazard warning signs.
6. Notes for ex-devices
5. Notes
• According to RL 2014/34/EU, annex I, the bypass level indicator differential compensated is a
device of device group II, category 1G or 2G, which, according to RL 99/92/EC ( ATEX 137 ), may be used
in zones 0, 1 and 2 or 1 and 2 as well as device groups IIA, IIB and IIC, which are explosive due to
inflammable substances in the range of temperature classes T1 to T6 or the values listed in the note
figures below. When using, the requirements defined in EN 60079-14 are to be adhered to.
• In the design with the “intrinsic safety” type of protection, only the bypass chamber and the float of the
bypass level indicator differential compensated, type according to the type key, may be used in zone 0.
These parts are to be included in the system’s periodic pressure inspection.
• In part materials with category 1G, the total of the alloy portions may not exceed the following values:
< 10% for: Alu mag ti zirconium, or
< 7.5% for: Mag ti zirconium.
• According to RL 2014/34/EU, annex I, the bypass level indicator differential compensated is a
device of device group II, category 2D, which, according to RL 99/92/EC ( ATEX 137 ), may be used in
zones 21 and 22 for flammable coating powder.
When using, the requirements according to EN 60079-1 and EN 60079-14 are to be adhered to.
The bypass level indicator differential compensated and the components must correspond to
protection category IP6*.
• The bypass level indicator differential compensated (except plastic) must be electrically bonded to the
equipotential bonding system.
Changes at the instrument may be only done by the manufacturer.
Notes for the area of use
• The wetted parts of the level indicator, that means the internal space of the bypass chamber, do not
contain electrical parts. They have been assessed therefore acc. to the appropriate norms for not electrical
equipments.
• The assessment by use as component, by mounting according to regulations of separately certified
instruments, does not show advanced hazards.
