7 Servicing/Maintenance
7.1 Safety regulations
The operator ensures that all maintenance, inspection and installation work is
performed by authorized, qualified specialist personnel who are thoroughly familiar
with the manual.
WARNING
Unintentional starting of pump set
Risk of injury by moving parts!

Make sure that the pump set cannot be started up unintentionally.
▷
Always make sure the electrical connections are disconnected before carrying
out work on the pump set.
WARNING
Fluids handled, consumables and operating supplies which are hot or pose a health
hazard
Risk of personal injury!
▷
Observe all relevant laws.
▷
When draining the fluid take appropriate measures to protect persons and the
environment.
▷
Decontaminate pumps which handle fluids posing a health hazard.
A regular maintenance schedule will help avoid expensive repairs and contribute to
trouble-free, reliable operation of the pump (set) with a minimum of maintenance
expenditure and work.

All maintenance, service and installation work can be carried out by KSB Service or
an authorized workshop. Find your contact in the attached "Addresses" booklet or

Never use force when dismantling and reassembling the pump set.
7.2 Servicing/inspection
KSB recommends the following schedule for pump set maintenance:

On G3 seawater variants the cathodic protection (anodes) has to be checked initially
after 6 months. Replace the anodes, if necessary. If the anodes show little wear, the
maintenance interval can be extended to 12 months.
