Keep dry:
The unit must not be operated while standing in a
puddle or in standing water. Do not store or ope-
rate the unit outdoors. If the electrical connection
or parts of the unit become wet, it must be dried
completely before operating it again.
Keep the air opening free:
Do not cover or block the air intake/outlet ope-
nings.
Disposal of the filters:
If the unit has been operated in contaminated air,
the used-up filters have to be packed air-tight in
plastic bags and have to be disposed of profes-
sionally.
Changing of the filter must be done using a
breathing protection device.
Warning
The LR5300 must not be operated in areas
exposed to explosion hazards.
Attention
2.4 Designated use
Only for industrial use!
The main designated use of the LR5300 is the
mobile use during dust-intensive works. The unit
ensures both the protection of labour and health
and the protection objective, and increases the
working efficiency. The filtration of the air ensures
an ambiance which is harmless for health. This
protects the employees and, at the same time,
increases their working performance. Areas and
inhabitants that are not affected are protected
against the spreading of harmful particles.
Sealing off and the creation of a vacuum during
clean-up operations considerably increase the
success at disposing harmful substances.
2.5 Dimensioning
If the LR5300 is used in areas where persons
work, the German Employer’s Liability Insurance
Association for the building sector (BG-BAU)
demands a 15-fold change of air. In order to
ensure a maximum working performance of the
LR5300 and in order to reach a correct indication
of the filters being filled up with dust, the air clea
-
ner must be run on the maximum power level of
the ventilator. If hoses for air intake or air outlet
are used, all hose connections must be covered
with hoses (air outlet: 1 hose 305 mm, air intake:
1 hose 305 mm).
2.6 Recirculated-air operation
The LR5300 is to be placed in the centre of the
affected area. The aerosols that are stirred up
during the working process or when the room is
utilized, are caught by the unit and bound in the
filter. Here, an air hose should be placed either
on the air outlet side or on the air intake side. It
should be placed in a way to ensure a ventilation
of the complete area. Particles are to be caught
as close to their place of creation as possible.
Essentially, fast running tools should be equip-
ped with a dust extraction via a safety aspirator.
In order to also catch dusts that are created
additionally, the LR5300 can be equipped with air
hoses. These are to be brought as close to their
place of creation as possible. This minimizes the
spreading of the dusts via the room air.
2.7 Placing of hoses
The air intake hose of the LR5300, respectively
the complete unit, is to be placed as close as
possible to the place where the pollution of the
air takes place. Increasing the distance between
air intake hose and the place where the pollution
of the air takes place will considerably lower the
percentage of particles being caught by the air
cleaner!
In order to better catch the particles at their place
of origin, Kroll offers an air intake cone for the
air intake side. In order to place the end of the
hose in a higher position, the hoses can be fixed
at telescope bars via a restraint assembly. The
hoses have to be lead as straight as possible to
the air cleaner, without bends. If necessary, you
might have to use some device in order to bridge
differences in height (e.g. a slant by auxiliary tim
-
ber planks). On the air intake side, narrowings of
the cross section created by bends in the hoses
will be increased in the air intake flow. In the air
outtake pipe, the air outtake flow works against
a narrowing of the cross section due to bends in
the hoses.
The air intake hose has to be placed in a manner
that leads away the polluted air from the area
where the employee breaths in and that leads
fresh air/cleaned air back to the employee. The
cleaned outgoing air of the air cleaner is to be
lead to well-ventilated areas or outdoors. Taking
back the cleaned air into the working area is only
allowed when enough basic ventilation with fresh
air is ensured. For this purpose, it may be neces-
sary to have a second air cleaner run in order to
ventilate the room. Please observe your national
regulations regarding employment protection.
Requested air change: the requested air change
depends on the kind and amount of harmful
