5.11 Diagnostic information according to NAMUR NE 107
Diagnostic information about the connected sensor is available in the configuration software
ConSoft or via NFC when using a portable device.
The HART
®
diagnostic messages are generated in accordance with NAMUR NE 107 for:
•
Sensor break (failure / sensor wire break)
•
Sensor short-circuit (failure / sensor wire short-circuit)
•
Transmitter error (failure/transmitter error, non-correctable in the transmitter)
For complete information about all diagnostic information available from the transmitters, refer
to the following tables.
Explanations acc. to NE 107
•
C: check function
•
S: not within specification
•
M: maintenance required
•
F: failure
The
“
Field Device Status
”
byte indicates both fault conditions and abnormal operational modes.
INFORMATION!
Whilst HART Protocol revision 6.0 and higher requires the Field Device Status to be always
meaningful, in earlier protocol revisions the Field Device Status had to be set to 0 if a
communication error is reported.

Loop current saturated
Check the limits for connected sensor. Ambient
temperature is higher then stated limits for sensor, which
is allocated to the primary variable analogue output.
Replace the sensor allocated to the primary variable
analogue output.
Transmitter
C
More status variable
Check device specific errors for more information.
Transmitter
C
Non-primary variable out
of limits
Check the limits for connected sensor. Replace the sensor
allocated to the non-primary variable.
Transmitter
C
Primary variable out of
limits
Check the limits for connected sensor. Replace the sensor
allocated to the primary variable.
