6. INSTALLATION
6.1
Rackmounting
The VS-3000 may be rackmounted in a standard 19” (2U) EIA rack assembly and includes rack “ears”
at the ends of the front panel. This device does not require any specific spacing above or below the unit
for ventilation. To rack mount the VS-3000, simply place the front panel rack ears against the rack rails
of the rack, and insert standard screws through each of the four corner holes in the rack ears.

CONNECTING TO OTHER DEVICES
Video Audio Matrices, Editing controllers, a PC and other controlling or controlled devices may be
connected to the
VS-3000
through the connectors located on the back of the unit as described below.
7.1
CONNECTING TO A PC
Locate a free COM serial port on your PC. Connect the provided 9-pin to 9-pin Null Modem Adapter
to the PC’s COM port, and, using a flat cable with 9-pin to 9-pin edge connectors, connect the other
side of the Adapter to the RS-232 IN socket of the VS-3000.
7.2
CONNECTING TO A VIDEO MATRIX OR OTHER CONTROLLED DEVICES
Connect the provided Null Modem Adapter, with a 9-pin to 9-pin flat cable with DB-9 connectors on
the edges, between the RS-232 OUT socket and the RS-232 INPUT of the controlled Matrix.
