9-2 Abnormality concerning display
Problem Cause Remedy
Internal fixation light is
invisible.
Anterior chamber observation
display selected.
This is not a malfunction.
When the anterior chamber observation display is
selected, the internal fixation light does not come on.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the internal fixation cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the internal fixation cable.
Focus dots do not appear.
Diopter correction lens is used.
This is not a malfunction. When the diopter correction
lens is used, the focus dot is not displayed.
Focus the camera on the fundus screen.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the FD LED cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the FD LED cable.
Focus dots appear
dislocated.
Faulty solenoid.
Please contact Kowa or your Kowa dealer.
After replacing the FD mirror solenoid, mirror adjustment
is needed.
Mirror peel-off.
Please contact Kowa or your Kowa dealer.
After replacing the FD return mirror unit, mirror
adjustment is needed.
Fundus working dots do
not appear.
Optical fibers separated. Please contact Kowa or your Kowa dealer.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the WD-CLEAN LED cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the WD-CLEAN LED cable.
Anterior chamber
observation picture is dim
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the ANTE LED cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the ANTE LED cable.
Fundus observation
picture is dim
Observation light volume is
insufficient.
Turn an observation light volume knob and raise
observation light volume.
Pupil contraction.
Expedite a patient's pupil dilation by making the room
much darker or making longer the dark-adaptation time in
darkness.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the rotary switch cable.
Faulty lamp volume or cable. Replace the lamp volume&flash switch

The screen does not
reflect in the LCD monitor.
Contrast/brightness maladjustment. Adjust the contrast/brightness volume in menu.
Connector improperly connected.
Reconnect the connector of the LCD cable or coaxial
cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the LCD cable or coaxial cable.
Faulty LCD monitor. Replace the LCD monitor unit.
Only superimposition is
displayed.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the B/W camera cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the B/W camera cable.
Faulty B/W camera. Please contact Kowa or your Kowa dealer.
Superimposition is not
indicated.
Faulty MAIN board. Replace the MAIN board.
The position of optical
head is not corresponding
to the LCD monitor's
positional display.
Dirty right and left detection board.
Clean the right and left detection board.

Dirty L/R sensor.
Clean the L/R sensor.

Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the L/R sensor cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the L/R sensor cable.
Faulty L/R sensor. Replace the L/R sensor.
Although
photographic image is
displayed on a digital
camera,
it is not
displayed on PC
monitor.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the USB cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the USB cable.
The USB hub is used. Reconnect the USB cable without using the USB hub.
The performance of the USB
extension cable.

Length of USB extension cable.
Adjust the length of the total of accessory USB cable and
the USB extension cable to 4m or less.
There is the case that a digital camera is not recognized
by the performance of the USB extension cable. Replace
the USB extension cable.
Faulty interface board. Replace the interface board.
