Troubleshooting
9-1 Abnormality concerning operation
Problem Cause Remedy
Power switch does not
operate.
The power cord is disconnected from
the fundus camera.
Connect the power cord to the fundus camera.
The plug is improperly connected. Put the plug in the socket.
The fuse has blown out. Replace the fuse with the new.
Faulty power supply board. Replace the power supply board.
The error message below
is displayed on the LCD
monitor.
Error: Higher Voltage
Power OFF and Call
Service Person
Charged voltage exceeded the limit.
There could be a failure of an
internal circuit.
Please contact Kowa or your Kowa dealer.
The error message below
is displayed on the LCD

Error: Lower Voltage

lower limit.

Cooling has been started since the
recharge circuit temperature
exceeded the higher limit.
This is not a malfunction.
Wait for 120 seconds before you resume photography.
Optical head will not move
vertically
Faulty photo sensor. Replace the photo sensor unit.
Connector improperly connected.
Reconnect the connector of an optical head drive motor
cable and the joystick cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the optical head motor cable or joystick cable.
Faulty joystick. Replace the joystick unit.
Faulty optical head motor. Replace the optical head motor.
Chin rest will not move
vertically
Faulty switch. Replace the SW L1 board.
Connector improperly connected.
Reconnect the connector of the chin rest cable and the
joystick cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the chin rest cable and the joystick cable.
Faulty chin rest drive unit. Replace the chin rest drive unit.
The coarse adjustment of
the optical head base
cannot
be smoothly
made.
Wear of friction plate. Replace the friction plate.
Dirty rack&pinion. Clean the rack&pinion.
Damage of rack&pinion.
Please contact Kowa or your Kowa dealer.
After replacing a rack&pinion, an adjustment is needed.
The fine adjustment of the
optical head base cannot
be smoothly made.
Dirty friction tray. Eliminate dirt from the friction tray.
Faulty joystick. Replace the joystick unit.
Dirty rack&pinion. Clean the rack&pinion.
Damage of rack&pinion.
Please contact Kowa or your Kowa dealer.
After replacing a rack&pinion, an adjustment is needed.
The fan does not activate,
or makes a peculiar noise.
Dirty fan. Clean the fan.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the fan cable.
Faulty fan and fan cable. Replace the fan.
The anterior chamber
selection switch does not
operate.
Faulty switch. Replace the SW C board.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the panel SW cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the panel SW cable.
Faulty anterior solenoid.
Please contact Kowa or your Kowa dealer.
After replacing anterior solenoid, an adjustment is
needed.
Internal fixation lamp
position does not switch.
Faulty switch. Replace the SW R1 board.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the internal fixation cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the internal fixation cable or panel SW cable.
FAF mode does not
switch.
Faulty switch. Replace the SW R1 board.
Connector improperly connected. Reconnect the connector of the internal fixation cable.
Faulty cable. Replace the internal fixation cable or panel SW cable.
