Inspection and replacement of the brass
screw
You must inspect the sacrificial water switch (brass screw) every month.
Prerequisites
The following items are required.
• AquaShield
• Brass screw
Context
The sensor is equipped with a sacrificial brass water
switch. It makes the sensor to be activated once it is
submerged.
Procedure
1 Locate the brass screw at the bottom of the sensor.
2 Inspect the screw for wear and tear.
3 If the head of the screw is corroded, try to remove this with a sharp object to achieve
maximum electrical contact with the sea water.
4 If replacement is required:
a Apply Aqua Shield (or similar underwater lubricant) to every screw before
inserting it.
Due to the physical size of the tube, we recommend you to apply the grease
from a syringe
5 Insert and tighten the screw, firmly but not too hard.
Do not use excessive force. Maximum torque is 1.5 Nm.
