Defining an area

You can use the string measure tool to define an area. The size and perimeter of the area
will be calculated for you.

Context

Defines and measures perimeters and areas. Allows you to place an area overlay on the
sonar view.

Procedure

1

Click the

String Measure

button.

This button is located on the tool bar.

Click anywhere in the sonar view to start a point.

3

Move to the second point, then click again.

4

Click as many times as necessary to create the required area.

5

Double-click on the last point to finish.

The area will automatically be closed, and a rectangular label will appear providing
information about the area and perimeter.

6

Move the label to a position on the screen where it is most legible, then click the left
mouse button to place it.

Tip

To remove this overlay, click the

Wiper

button, then click the overlay.
