Engine does not start with starter run-
ning.
• No fuel.
• Air in fuel system.
• Water in fuel system.
• Pump or fuel injection nozzle faulty.
• Starter makes engine run slowly.
• Preheating warning light does not
come on.
• Faulty compression.
• Excessive valve clearance.
• Restore level. See "CHECKS TO BE
CARRIED OUT BEFORE START-
ING THE ENGINE".
• Repair the point where air is sucked
in, see "EVERY 500 HOURS OF
OPERATION".
• Drain the water from the system, see
"WHEN REQUIRED" and "CHECKS
TO BE CARRIED OUT BEFORE
STARTING THE ENGINE".
(•) Change pump or nozzle.

(•) Adjust valve clearance.
Exhaust gases white or light blue.
• Too much oil in oil pan.
• Unsuitable fuel.
