3.3.1.5 STARTING THE ENGINE
Start-up with hot engine or mild weather
WARNING
q
Before starting the engine, carefully read the instructions
and information regarding safety contained in this manual
and make sure that you know the controls. Once the engine
is started, the Operator is absolutely responsible for the
damages deriving from false manoeuvres or failure to
observe safety regulations..
q
Do not attempt to start the engine by causing a short-cir-
cuit with the terminals of the starter. This may cause seri-
ous injury or even fires.
q
Start the engine only while seated with fastened seat belt.
q
Before starting the engine, make sure that there is no one
within the operating range of the machine and sound the
horn.
q
Exhaust gas is toxic. When starting the engine in closed
places, make sure that there is sufficient ventilation.
IMPORTANT
q
Do not make the starter run for more than 20 seconds
without interruption. If the engine does not start, wait at
least 2 minutes before trying again.
q
Before starting the engine, make sure that the battery main
switch is turned to ON (see "3.2.2 pos: 9. Battery main
switch (if installed)").
1. Make sure that the safety lever (1) is in the “locked” position
(L).
NOTE
q
If the safety lever is in working position (F), the engine does not
start up.
2. Pull the accelerator lever (2) midway between the idling
position (A) and the maximum speed position (B).
3. Turn the ignition key (3) to position START to start the
engine.
