Taking the appliance into
operation
Before initial operation:
• Clean the appliance and lid
thoroughly before initial use.
• Fill approx. 5 litres of water into
the preserver and allow to boil.
Note:
Odours can develop when
using a new appliance for the first
time. This is due to technical rea-
sons and is no reason for concern.
Notes on operation:
• Always wind up the mains cable
fully.
• Make sure that the mains cable
does not come into contact with
the hot appliance during
operation.
Caution!
Only fill liquid up to a
maximum of 4 cm below the
appliance lid (corresponds with
the 23 litres in the cooking mode)
and close the lid, otherwise there
is the risk of scalding in cooking
operation.
• Only plug the appliance into a
safety socket after filling.
• Do not switch the appliance on
without water inside otherwise the
enamel and coated rack can be-
come damaged. If this happens,
despite taking due care, wait until
the appliance has cooled down
before filling with water otherwise
the sudden production of steam
can lead to scalding.
• Let the condensation run off into
the appliance when removing the
lid.
• Avoid transporting the appliance
when full. It is very heavy when
filled - risk of injury. Empty the
appliance before transport or skim
off some liquid.
• Always pull the plug out after use
and let the appliance cool down.
• Use the cable holder and plug
storage (5) on the underside of
appliance after use.
