PROTECTION
•
Electrical equipment must be
installed and fitted by a qualified
installer.
•
Contact an installer in the event of
faults or defects.
•
A fuse (250VAC, 16A) type B ac-
cording to EN60898-1 for load 1 (↑)
should already have been installed
in the installation.
Introduction
The HB-PIR-UNI 15M can be used to
switch and control lighting in corridors,
warehouses and other high-ceilinged
areas.
The detector has 1 relay output with a
switched phase with zero-crossing con-
troller that is resistant to high switch-on
currents.
An external switch block is used. The
connections and other electronics are
integrated in the sensor head.
The detection range is a circular area
max. 20 metres in diameter. The inner
core of this area is highly sensitive and
the outer edge has a lower sensitivity
level (bigger movements).
The time and lux threshold settings of the
sensor can be configured as required.
The lux setting can also be automatically
taught in between 10 and 500 lux.
Specifications
De maximum installation height is 15
metres. If the sensor is higher, the detec-
tion sensitivity will be reduced.
The range extends up to a maximum
range of 20 metres in diameter (PIR).
Determine the location where the
detector is to be installed, bearing the
following in mind:
1. Air vents: look out for discharge from extractor
hoods, heating vents, tumble driers, etc.
2. Objects that could be moved by air currents such as
plants and curtains.
3. Do not point the sensor at other light sources.
4. Do not aim the sensor at highly reflective surfaces
such as swimming pools (because of rapid tempera-
ture changes)
5. Consider the approach direction (always try to
position the field in such a way that someone
approaching crosses the field instead of moving
straight towards the sensor).
6. Do not install the detector on conducting
surfaces.
CHOOSING A POSITION
1.
Drill a Ø68 mm hole in the ceiling
board, which should be between 5
and 25 mm thick.
2.
Leave the phase, neutral and switch
wire hanging out of the hole.
3.
Strip between 6 and 8 mm off the
cores.
4.
Connect the wires up to the right
connections
5.
Locate the sensor in the hole and
secure in place using the springs.
INSTALLATION
The sensor can be surface-mounted us-
ing the supplied surface-mount housing.
Surface-mounting
Ceiling flush-mounted
Distribution junction box mounting
The springs supplied separately can be
used to install the sensor in a suspended
ceiling.
If permitted by the distribution junction box, the
sensor can be installed in the junction box itself
using the distribution junction box adapter.

LENS MASK
A lens mask has been supplied to mask
the detection zone.
The lens mask has two layers and each
layer has a number of sections. Each sec-
tion masks part of the detection zone.
1.
If necessary, snip the cut-outs for
the wires out of the surface-mount
housing.
2.
Mount the housing on the surface.
3.
Strip between 6 and 8 mm off the
cores.
4.
Connect the wires up to the right
connections
5.
Mount the sensor on the sur-
face-mount housing.
1.
Leave the phase, neutral and switch
wire hanging out of the junction
box.
2.
Fit the mounting plate.
3.
Strip between 6 and 8 mm off the
cores.
4.
Connect the wires up to the right
connections.
5.
Place the sensor on the mounting
plate.
NOTE: The lens mask masks the
indicated detection range.
DETECTION RANGE
When the detection fields are crossed
Approx. 20 m at 15 m height, 20 °C.
When the sensor is approached head-
on
Approx. 8 m at 15 m height, 20 °C.
USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
It takes around 60 seconds before the
sensor is fully operational.

OPTIONAL PULSE SWITCH
An external pushbutton is optionally
available to operate the sensor manually.
Press the button once briefly to switch on
the load. Press the button again briefly to
switch it off.
The lighting will remain on for as long as
presence is detected including the set
switch-off delay.
