Cleaning and disinfecting
a.
Cleaning and maintening the device
Only external parts of the device are to be cleaned. This is done with a clean, damp cloth.
b.
Cleaning the accessories
Accessories concerned:
1.
Breast shield
2.
Valve
3.
Protective membrane
4.
Collection container
5.
Cap
Before first use and after each use:
•
Disassemble each accessory, particularly all the parts of the valve and the protective membrane.
•
Rinse all parts in contact with milk and the parts of the protective membrane in cold water (around 20°C).
•
Next, clean in hot, soapy water.
•
Rinse all the parts.
1.
For the valve:
Assemble the membrane on the intermediate ring (making sure that the valve is nested in the ring).
2.
For the protective membrane:
Assemble the 3 parts of the protective membrane. Check that the white membrane
is correctly positioned in its housing (press down on the edges to ensure a good seal around the entire edge of the
membrane).
3.
Reconnect the small tube to the protective membrane.
Allow to air dry on a paper towel or a clean cloth.
Repeat the operation on the second membrane and the second valve when using in double pumping mode.
NOTES:
•
It is best to clean all parts in contact with breast milk immediately after use. This facilitates cleaning and prevents
growth of bacteria.
•
If condensation appears in the small tube of the protective membrane or when milk enters inside, rinse the tube to
remove liquid residues.
•
The protective membrane prevents any ingress of liquid into the tubing (long and intermediate) and into the device.
It is therefore important to clean it as soon as it is soiled.
WARNINGS:
•
The tubing between the protective membrane and the selector and the
tubing between the selector and the device must not be cleaned or
disinfected. Water could remain in the tubing and damage the device.
•
The selector must not be cleaned.
