If there are any new hardware licenses available, they are shown in the New
HW Licenses column.
Install All New HW License (button) - Installs new licenses onto the modules.
TCP/IP Address Configuration
VXT supports the TCP/IP connection standards for LAN and HiSLIP (High-Speed LAN
Instrument Protocol) instruments.
In general, modern driver technology obscures the details of the hardware connection
from the programmer. Therefore, your instrument's actual hardware connection is
unlikely to have any significant effect on the optimal choice of programming tools,
language or Application Development Engineer (ADE).
There are two different connection configurations to control a VXT module in a
chassis.
Local Control - Can be done with either a controller installed in the chassis,
such as a M9037A or, by using an external controller. Both of the two methods
use the PCIe-PCIe bridge for data communication.
Remote Control - The controller is installed in the chassis and an external PC
controls the VXT via a LAN connection as a remote controller.
Address Setting in Local Control
To setup the TCP/IP address in local control:
1. In the controller, run LaunchModularTRX.exe.
2. Select Show Advanced Settings. For the VXT, the HiSLIP Dev value shown is 4.
This value will be used to set the remote name in Keysight Connection Expert.
Note that you can change the requested HiSLIP port here. If there is a conflict, a
new one will automatically be assigned.
