Trial licenses are identified by the license designator "TRL".
Example: N9080A-TRL
If a product has multiple tiers (that is, levels of functionality), the TRL license enables
all tiers for the duration of the license. If you have a based tier and want a trial license
for a higher tier, you can install the TRL license. When the duration expires the
entitlement is reverted back to the base tier.
Licensing Measurement Application Software
Additional measurement applications can be ordered after your initial purchase of the
M8920A. Software upgrades are provided in a kit that includes an option-based
entitlement certificate and a license agreement. Licenses are downloaded from:
http://www.keysight.com/find/vxt
For optimal performance, Keysight recommends installing the latest version of the
instrument software. There are two methods below for installing a license.
Use a USB storage device to install the license
Use License Manager to install the license
Calibration is not required after a measurement application is
installed.
Use a USB Storage Device to Install the License
After redeeming the Option Upgrade Entitlement Certificate, you will receive an email
with attached license file.
1. Follow the instructions on the certificate.
2. Save the .lic file to the root directory on a USB storage device.
Connect the USB storage device to the controller.
The M8920A automatically loads the license file. This may take a few minutes. Upon
completion, Keysight License Manager displays "
Successful License Installation ".
Alternatively, the license can be manually installed over USB or LAN by placing the
license file in the following folder on the controller.
C:\Program Files\Keysight\Licensing
